Girl's weekend was great, it has been awhile since I could go.  The project got finished and presented.  She really liked it and the prayer shawl that I used as gift wrap.  Dropped some baby bonnets off at the hospital as their supply is getting low.  I will be making some more over the holiday as I don't want to start anything big for awhile.

Knitting group had a good turn out this mornin,  Too bad, I didn't get to stay for potluck lunch, it looked real good.  Looking forward to girls' weekend thought.  Project almost finished not sure about the numbers though, I might not post pattern just yet.  Picture later.

I made one of the stars, using  wrapping paper strips.  The correct paper will work even better.

I was reading one of my favourite web sites Weefolkart and was intrigued by the pictures of the Folded Paper German Stars,  so I followed this link

There is a Video Tutorial.  Beautiful, think I will try to get some paper tomorrow.

More snow, good day for people who like to watch the Grey Cup. Better day to tool around on the internet for craft  ideas and recipes.
Found this web site today hope you enjoy it, http://www.nlrockrecipes.com/

We have snow today and it's cold, too cold for knitting in the porch.

I have had some fun playing with this image using this site http://www.themakeyourownzone.com/2010/08/just-for-fun-online-make-your-own-kaleidoscope.html

Found, the poem Indian-Summer which perfectly describes our lovely weather.  This was one of the first poems  that we had to recite from memory in school.
I have found some new sites with interesting links for free tatting, cross- stitching, and embroidery patterns.  Adding them to my Links list and also the knitting and crochet sites, that I use every day.  Maybe tomorrow I will get today's projects finished.

Tomorrow morning is knitting group, I hope to get the shawl finished.  In the afternoon, I plan on picking up more stitches, on my project.  I was able to get a second long denise cable, which should help, although they don't like the cold.  The best light for picking up stitches is in the porch and I want to have that  done  before it gets really cold.  Once,  all the stitches are picked up and counted again, it will not take long to finish.  Pattern and pictures coming.

Working on a special project, lots of stitches to be picked up.  Double checking all the counting, as I  am planning to post about all the changes to the pattern.  Also, lots of researching, what is the best way to sell vintage patterns, as copies, or pdf documents?

Woke up to snow, Yeah, now we can have Indian Summer.

I found this  very cute craft idea on the internet today.  I wish that I had found it years ago when my children were little, what a great way to preserve your little one's hand prints.  Those were the days before the internet.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day, perfect for remembrance day services and today is dull and rainy, but not cold.  Tomorrow is going to be colder.

These poppies grow at the side of our house, some times there are lots and some years only a few.  This is a picture of one as it is just opening.  Beautiful reminder of remembrance, especially tomorrow.

Recipes

I have had a request to post one of our favorite recipes for Christmas goodies.  It is the Marshmallow Chocolate Roll.  Enjoy

Chocolate Coated Marshmallow Slices
  (unbaked)

1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 tbsp. butter
12 lg. marshmallows = ½ cup miniature marshmallows
1 egg, beaten

Melt in double boiler, cool a little and add

1 cup icing sugar
1 cup walnuts (chopped) optional
14 lg. marshmallows cut in quarters = ¾ cup miniature marshmallows (coloured preferred)

Let stand 10 minutes and shape into 4 rolls. Roll each roll in chopped nuts or coconut spread on waxed paper. Roll in waxed paper and chill. Slice to serve.
Can be frozen until ready to serve.

Recipes comes from "The Mary Moore Cookbook".

Worked on a prayer shawl this morning, at our knitting group, using an olive green chunky yarn.  I have made several of these, this past year for charity. It is a great way to de-stash.  The pattern is the Triangular Prayer Shawl by John Fedderson at www.debbiemacomber.com/
Also a great site for recipes.  Not a working link any more.

Close up of the pattern stitch
It has been a beautiful autumn day, no crafting going on today, lots of other things to do.

This evening, I am learning how to use the label tab for my posts, and how to change the photos that I like to add.

I thought that I would like to start by sharing a picture of my favorite knit baby blanket.  I have made   many of then  in both pastel and primary colors.    The first ones were made for my sister's twin boys, the latest one for my great niece.  I have modified the pattern to make it into a crib size blanket, also great to use when nursing.
