I decided it was time to add some of the recipes that I am asked to look up for my friends, from our Women's Institute Cookbook. Enjoy
Tea Biscuits
4 cups flour
5 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
Mix dry ingredients . Put 1/2 cup oil in a 2 cup measuring cup and fill the remainder with milk. Pour all in at once. Stir with fork. Roll out onto floured board and knead 5 to 6 times. Cut into round shapes or triangles. Bake at 400* F for 10 to 12 minutes, high in oven. Foil pie plates do not darken bottoms as much.
May brush tops with milk and egg, if desired.
